The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program provides a broad view of organizational performance from the general management perspective. It offers an innovative curriculum to develop skills needed for effective leadership and management. Learners may select a concentration in Management, Accounting and Financial Management, Human Resources Management, Project Management or International Business. Or, the learner may design a program that is based on prior education and work experience, career goals and individual needs.

California Southern University’s intensive curriculum provides the essential management skills to succeed in any career. Our curriculum focuses on leadership, communication, fundamentals of business and analytical skills.


The Objectives of the Master of Business Administration Degree Are:

  • To provide the MBA learner with the modern advanced theories and concepts related to a dynamic business environment.
  • To promote the incorporation of practical business experience with formal academic learning so that shared experiences can create integrated learning.
  • To foster growth in intellectual accomplishment and an opportunity to develop an executive level perspective on business practices.
  • To provide graduate-level knowledge and skills in the application of current technology for use in research, critical thinking, and problem-solving to collect, analyze, and evaluate business data to arrive at professional conclusions.
  • To encourage learners to develop the ability to use quantitative and qualitative tools to identify and address business problems and opportunities.
  • To encourage learners to gain an appreciation of ethical principles and its application to the business environment.
  • To provide students with the opportunity to develop a global perspective on business operations and to understand how diversity can impact business decisions.
  • To promote the development a high level of proficiency in written and oral communications that support and enhance managerial effectiveness.
  • To encourage the stimulation of the student’s intellectual curiosity and develop their innovative spirit to prepare students for future middle and upper management positions in business, nonprofit, and government organizations both domestic and global.

Admission to the Master’s degree programs requires a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent completed at an appropriately accredited institution. The MBA degree requires 36 graduate semester credits completed beyond the Bachelor’s degree.

The University may accept a maximum of 6 graduate semester credits in transfer toward the MBA degree for graduate course work completed at an appropriately accredited institution. Credit earned in graduate courses for which a grade of “B” or higher was earned will be considered for transfer. To enable the evaluation of prior college work, official transcripts must be provided to the University.


The MBA degree requires a total of 36 graduate semester credits and satisfaction of the following criteria:

  • Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (B) or higher.
  • Official transcripts on file for graduate transfer units accepted by the University and for the Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
  • All financial obligations to the University paid in full.
